The money was used to purchase an epidural pump as well as an adjustable bed for people with chronic pain. Books for the Cure raised a total of $16,000 this year, with another $3,000 going to End Cancer Now for research, and the final $3,000 being donated to the Vancouver Island Lodge in Victoria for the use of cancer patients from the Comox Valley. The Rotary club is already starting to collect books for this year's November sale — drop off locations will be printed in future issues of the Echo.
