The biggest fundraising challenge ever set by Courtenay Rotary Club has been successfully completed.
On Tuesday, the club was able to present a symbolic cheque to Comox Valley Hospice Society for $150,000 - money raised over three years, principally through a series of online and live auctions.
Hospice president Maureen Swift said the money raised was a major boost to the appeal for funds towards building the proposed ten-bed hospice in the grounds of Glacier View Lodge, but Rotary┬╣s involvement had also been invaluable in a second way by keeping the project in the public eye.
